These are desirable rugs and recognisable for their strong geometric designs and clear uniformity of colour.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eIdentifiable features of Caucasian Kazak rugs (from this era) include: that the warp threads (these are the fringe threads that we can see at each end of the rug) are of natural coloured wool. The weft threads are also made of wool: typically red or brown, with two wefts threads inserted after each row of knots.
