The classic design features in this rug can be seen in the rich colouration, the oversize floral features of floweheads and meandering vine multiple borders, as well as crafted from the same weaving methodologies that have remained unchanged for millenia.

What are the Artistic Colour Combinations of this Rug?

This rug is woven from handspun wool and dyed with natural vegetable dyes which allows a richness of tone and an endless variety of hues. Antique Garous carpets were known for their rich colouration and dramatic outlining with distinctive borders. These attributes can be discovered in this Afghan piece which is so cleverly executed in weave and patterning. The main field is a rich midnight blue and filled with spaciously flourishing exuberant floral motifs and star flowers. The ends of the rug shows a traditional border with cream background inbetween two 'minor' borders with another flower and vine meandering pattern. This terracotta background border is also repeared down the sides of the rug.

Interior Ideas for this Rug

This rug has a versatile size and would be ideal placed at the side of a bed or a hallway.
