This rug has all of the attributes and design features of a classic antique Serapi Carpet; it has the rhythmic repetition of rosettes and leaves, the multi-lobed palmettes and the angular appendages branching our from multiple motifs. The natural vegetable dyed pure wool yarn has soft colours and all the patina of mellowed antique carpets, but with the benefit of a new condition and full pile. Deliberately enlarged motifs still harmonise; particulary with the traditional cloudband border.
