Wool yarn is woven onto a cotton foundation. It has had a previous life and when new and off the loom it would have likely had very different colouration, as well as a full pile. This carpet is still structurally sound but may have needed a new invention of hues, artistic revitalisation and new colouration with more tonal unity. A modern vibe is injected with versatile neutrals. The original pile would been shaved down, and the colours neutralised and reduced and what remaining would be the floral motifs still apparent.
