It has a traditional format of a stylised floral-geometric design with a centralised medallion as a focal point. The pile has been shaved and prepared artisanally and it's original dyes removed and softened. This result of these careful expert processes means that a traditional format and design can still be enjoyed, but with a more restrained modern palette with subtle combination of hues and tonalities.

What are the Subtle Colour Combinations of this Handmade Carpet?

This Vintage carpet has zero pile but still a sturdy construction as it is handknotted on a cotton foundation. Only robust handmade Oriental Carpets can withstand changing colourations and finishing processes. It has been gifted a new lease of life as a vintage carpet with modern neutrals. It's ornate geometric pattern and design has a base colour of a warm cream, with additional subtle hues of beige, taupe, light beige-gold as well as the detailing of the geometric motifs in the field and main and minor borders, in a warm defining chestnut brown. This darker hue truly accentuates the geometric detailing of stylized palmettes, leaves and vines. Look and discover hints of a soft olive sage green as well. It is a unique piece and also find the signature of the weaver in the inner minor border (see image 7).

Key Details

Country of Origin: Upcycled in Pakistan

Dimensions: 286 x 195cm / 9'5" x 6'5"

Thickness: 6mm

Pile: Wool, Handknotted, Shaved

Warp: Cotton

Age: Vintage Zero Pile
